Mixed media: plaster, house paints, and coffee grounds on wooden panel. 17”H x 13”W x 2.5”D
This work is influenced by the Dry Landscapes Collection. A collection that uses dramatic textures to create a feeling of tranquility. Each work is inspired by some of the prestigious shines and gardens in Japan, which are known to many of us as Zen gardens. These shrines and gardens use white stones, pebbles, and/or gravel to build and create a quiet peaceful atmosphere. The material is called 白玉石 (Haku gyoku seki) which literally means “white stones.” The grounds of these gardens and shrines are carefully arranged into patterns or paths of white stones and sand to bring out the meaning of life.
Each piece in this collection is wrapped in a hand-crafted maple wooden frame. Including these frames helps you better hang the artwork and provides a level of protection for the works. Each wooden frame is detachable and is available exclusively through South Loop Loft.
PLEASE NOTE: ACTUAL PRODUCT COLOR MAY VARY FROM THE IMAGES SHOWN.
