Love Letter 04 is the final remaining work from the series Love Letters to My Mexican Heritage, a collaborative project by ceramicist and fiber artist Nicole McLaughlin and multidisciplinary artist and designer Monica Curiel. This series celebrates shared cultures, honoring the rich traditions and experiences that connect the two artists as Mexican Americans.
Blending materials that reflect both feminine and masculine ancestral traditions, the piece combines fiber and spackling paste, dyed in deep indigo hues to emphasize the cultural significance of craft and storytelling.
As the last available work in this collection, Love Letter 04 stands as a heartfelt tribute to heritage—a poetic culmination of shared identities, personal histories, and artistic visions, reimagining tradition through contemporary artistry.
