Entre mis recuerdos investigates the simulation of fabric using plaster and spackling paste through sculpted drapery, exploring how revisiting memories shapes one’s understanding of self. The piece reflects Curiel’s multidisciplinary practice, which transforms construction materials—learned from working alongside her father—into objects that honor labor, family, and cultural inheritance. Rooted in her Mexican heritage and the intimate gestures of her mother’s handiwork, this work continues her exploration of identity, memory, and the histories embedded in everyday materials.
