Vase No. 1 features a surface gathered and ruched in delicate folds, drawing from the tactile vocabulary of garment construction. The piece blurs the boundaries between decorative object and sculptural form, synthesizing domestic textile gestures with industrial materials to honor the intertwined legacies of craft and labor within Curiel’s family heritage. Available for acquisition through Love House. 

This vessel is functional and includes a fixed PVC pipe insert for fresh florals or vegetation. For the longevity of the piece, water should be added only to the PVC insert. To remove water, it should be absorbed using a sponge or other suction tool. The vessel should not be tilted or used to pour water out. If preferred, an additional waterproof liner or container may be used to help place and remove water safely.
