Vase No. 1

2025
Plaster and mixed media
19” H × 6” D

Edition: 1/1

Vase No. 1 features a surface gathered and ruched in delicate folds, drawing from the tactile language of garment construction and traditional fiber techniques. Translating textile gestures into plaster and industrial material, the work blurs the boundary between decorative object and sculptural form, honoring intertwined legacies of craft and labor within Curiel’s family heritage. Available for acquisition through Love House.

This vessel is functional and includes a fixed PVC pipe insert for fresh florals or vegetation. For the longevity of the piece, water should be added only to the PVC insert. To remove water, it should be absorbed using a sponge or other suction tool. The vessel should not be tilted or used to pour water out. If preferred, an additional waterproof liner or container may be used to help place and remove water safely.

Sewing on Saturday Morning Vessel

2025
Plaster and mixed media
Ø10" × 11.25" H

Sold · Edition: 1/1

Sewing on Saturday Morning Vessel explores fragility as an act of care and remembrance. Inspired by learning to sew alongside her mother and grandmother, pleated, dart-like folds transform the motions of fabric shaping and mending into sculptural form. Constructed from spackling paste and plaster, the piece turns materials of repair into a record of resilience, connecting domestic craft traditions to contemporary object making.

This vessel is functional and includes a removable glass insert for fresh florals or vegetation. For the longevity of the piece, water should be added only to the glass insert. When replacing the water, the glass insert should be removed and emptied separately. The vessel should not be tilted or used to pour water out. The vessel itself is made of plaster and is not watertight. If water is placed directly into the plaster vessel, it will soften, weaken, and may break.
